Cornucopia – keyboards-eye-view of the Democrats Abroad bash…
Quickly snapped a few shots from the stage on Tuesday night, of the crowd, and of the band on stage. Also nipped down during the soundcheck during “Crazy in Love” (don’t play much on that one) to get the piccies below.
You can see that the Democrats packed the floor, grooving to the sounds of “Blame it on the boogie”, “So What” (Pink), “Heart of Glass” and “Get into the Groove”, among others. We played for about 3 hours in total – I think it was 35 songs…!
Watch this space – the recordings sound amazing so I will be posting those on the “listen” section of the website as soon as I’ve done them.

Cornucopia ROCKED the Royal Lancaster!
Well, what a gig! An absolutely incredible experience, to be part of history in the making. The 10-piece band were superb – the brass girls were hot to listen to and look at, and Jules Maguire on lead vocals looked and sounded fabulous. Damien Edwards was in fine voice, as ever, and the two lead singers kept everyone hyped with lots of lines about Obama (and Bush)… The rhythm section were all superb, and the crowd loved the band. We played a lot of Americana (Living in America, All Summer Long, American Boy) and our exciting new set really went down a storm.
Here’s a comment from one of the organisers that was emailed to me this morning…
Richard, Thank you so much for last night. Everyone had a ball at the ball. You are terrific to work with and so accommodating. On behalf of Democrats Abroad UK, your efforts are appreciated. Please send our thanks to your band members for a super super job! A memorable night…
