Ousefield House Officers Mess

by Richard on December 12, 2010

Last night we performed at the Ousefield House Officers Mess Christmas Party in York. The 5-piece played till 1am and I DJ-ed until 3am – some dedicated partygoers were still on the dancefloor right till the end. It’s a long way to go, but it’s worth it – they know how to party and always treat us very well. We are building on our contacts with the military functions, and they seem to like us because we are not only a fantastic band, but we are straightforward and easy to deal with.

BGC Partners at Aqua

by Richard on December 12, 2010

We had the pleasure of playing for the BCG Partners Back Office Christmas Party on Friday, which was held at Aqua on Regent Street. Working in conjunction with DJ Philly (who is AWESOME!), we kept the guests on the dancefloor all night. We had an 8-piece out on this one, and the guests were very appreciative of our stunning female horn section. The production was managed smoothly by Chris Baxter of Rockit, and they put in some fantastic equipment. Aqua is a great venue and the food is amazing.

Our 3rd visit to Brompton Barracks for the Royal Engineers’ Christmas Party – we played last years one and their Summer Ball this year too. The theme was Old London, and they always do things in style at Brompton. We provided a 7-piece band which had all the guests filling the floor all night. And [...]

Rockeoke Wedding

December 12, 2010

This November saw our first Rockaoke Wedding party – we played the Yard in Brighton and accompanied an extraordinarily talented bride and lots of her friends. We had an assortment of people on stage with us, from the bride’s father (singing a little ditty from Gilbert & Sulivan’s “Mikado”) to a 3-year old singing “Hallelujah”. [...]
