Following the success of the Strict Tempo functions we have done, we have decided to launch a discrete band simply to deal with those type of events – tea dances, ballroom dances etc. And so, Quickstep is born. Quickstep is a thoroughly professional Strict Tempo band who play a range of classic and contemporary tunes which fit perfectly with the more formal dances, namely: Tango, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Rhumba (or Rumba), Cha Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Jive and Samba.

The musicians in Quickstep have played with some of the best known names out there for Strict Tempo, including Ross Mitchell, and have performed at the Waldorf under the banner of Cornucopia and Simply Dancing Partners.

Quickstep is still managed by Richard and Cornucopia, so you can be assured of the same fantastic customer service and attention to detail. Prices start at £1800.

Cornucopia are one of the few bands who can perform for ballroom dancing (also known as Strict Tempo). They can do this with as few as 4 band members, which is unusual, as many of the dance bands out there are 18-piece big bands. Cornucopia perform very much in the “Strictly Come Dancing” mold – using an appropriate mix of  contemporary and classic songs which work as Foxtrot, Cha-Cha-Cha, Quickstep, Tango, Rhumba, Samba, Waltz and Viennese Waltz. Rockeoke, or Rockaoke, or Live Band Karaoke, or Rock Star Karaoke, is an increasingly popular event to run for your party or event. Give your guests the opportunity to be a rockstar for a few minutes as they sing with a fantastic live band behind them. Cornucopia is, quite simply, the best band to run this for you. Why? Several reasons. Richard (who runs the band) is a qualified music teacher, and is very adaptable and encouraging. The band will often alter the key for you if your voice really won’t manage the original. The band is keyboard-led, unlike many of the other Rockeoke bands out there – this adds hundreds more songs into the repertoire. We don’t just play Rock either – we cover loads of different styles.

On the first Wednesday of each month they entertain the locals in Brixton at the Hootananny pub. Actually, it’s more than the locals — people come from miles to take part. Come down and check us out.
